I know everyone must be thinking, &#8216;aren&#8217;t you a little late?&#8217;.<\/span><br \/><span>I&#8217;m well aware that the wonderful time of year when the pumpkin spice latte returns to Starbucks is over. I just can&#8217;t let go of the great favor of pumpkins, so today, I made <a href=\"http:\/\/sweetpeaskitchen.com\/2010\/09\/27\/pumpkin-scones\/\">pumpkin scones<\/a>.<\/span><br \/><span><br \/><\/span><br \/><span>Here&#8217;s what happened:<\/span><br \/><span><br \/><\/span><br \/><span>I followed the recipe from the\u00a0link above.\u00a0<\/span><span>The dough ended up being way too dry so I added more puree, about 1\/4 a cup. \u00a0She recommended using parchment paper to line the baking sheets. I didn&#8217;t have any on hand; I thought I might be on my way to another baking disaster but they came right off after 15 minutes in the oven. Unfortunately I left my cooling racks in New Jersey. My solution was to use one of the racks from the oven to cool the scones. I decided to not use her glaze and improvised.<\/span><br \/><span><br \/><\/span><br \/><span>1 cup of confectioners sugar.<\/span><br \/><span>1\/2 tsp. of allspice.<\/span><br \/><span>2 Tbsp. half and half.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<table cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"424\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-ZV4E5P_PQJM\/T1DqiEejFqI\/AAAAAAAAAF4\/qaWzBjJ0TgM\/s640\/DSC_0421.JPG\" width=\"640\"><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div><span>These scones brought me right back to October!<\/span><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div><span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span>I would suggest for next time:<\/span><br \/><span><br \/><\/span><br \/><span>Making your own pumpkin puree.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>Omit glaze altogether and eat with a little pumpkin butter instead.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>Serving these scones with ginger or cinnamon tea.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>O.K.!
